The Institute of Engineers (India), Kuwait Chapter celebrated World Quality Day Co-sponsored by TCB Cert. Worldwide LLC (Training & Certification Bureau) on 12th November 2009. In 1990, the UN declared second Thursday of November as World Quality Day. World Quality Day encourages individuals and organizations to focus on the importance of quality, growth and prosperity, and demonstrate their commitment to Quality excellence .

The Chairman of IEI Kuwait chapter Eng. Joseph Panicker inaugurated the seminar and welcomed the gathering. Eng Syed M H Zaidi , Ex Officio CM of IEI has highlighted the importance of Quality .

Eng. M S Ray , Managing Director of TCB Cert Worldwide delivered a speech on “Business Excellence through Quality” and gave a brief of Historic Evolution of Quality ,Quality movements Worldwide including India, Contributions of Quality Gurus , EFQM Business Excellence model ,Role of IRCA and CQI in developing Certification programs for Auditors of Management System for value added auditing and various Quality Awards Worldwide such as Malcom Baldrige National Quality award, UK Quality Award and prestigious Dubai Quality Award based on EFQM model awarded to role model companies presented by HH the Ruler of Dubai to promote Quality, Eng Ray started his speech with the most famous Quote of Bharat Ratna JRD TATA "One must forever strive for excellence or even perfection in any task - however small and never be satisfied with the second best"

Acclaimed speaker Dr Rumane Abdul Razzak ,Ex-Chairman of IEI (Kuwait Chapter) gave a brief speech on “Cost of Quality”

The World Quality Day celebration was a source of great inspiration for all professionals. IEI-Kuwait chapter has decided to celebrate the World Quality Day every year to promote Quality as a driver for business and excellence

The seminar was attended by a large number of professionals  from various countries and  organizations in Kuwait and prominent Indian Engineers such as Eng Fairoz H Miller, Executive Manager-Combined Group (Oil and Gas Division), Ex Chairman of IEI (Kuwait Chapter)- Eng P. Sundararajan and many others.

IEI(Kuwait Chapter)  thanked Kuwait Society of Engineers for their support for this event by offering their premises for this Quality Seminar. Eng George Antonius Ex-officio General Secretary gave the vote of thanks to all invited guests and members of IEI.
